IAM COMPACT at ENCLUDE General Assembly

27.05.2024 | Other events

IAM COMPACT project participated in the General Assembly of Horizon 2020 project Energy Citizens for Inclusive Decarbonization (ENCLUDE), a project which aims to help the EU to fulfill its promise of a just and inclusive decarbonization pathway through sharing and co-creating new knowledge and practices that maximize the number and diversity of citizens who are willing and able to contribute to the energy transition.

ENCLUDE colleagues presented their progress with regards to WP5 - The impact of energy citizenship in decarbonization pathways. Specifically, they enhanced ENCLUDE's modelling ensemble and employed it to extract insights regarding the decarbonisation potential of energy citizenship at the local level. Specifically, to simulate the different scenarios, two (2) models were employed, namely: ANIMO (grAssroot innovatioN diffu-sion MOdel) and DREEM (Dynamic high-Resolution dEmand-sidE Management).

IAM COMPACT emphasised the role of stakeholders in the emergence and consolidation of energy communities. We were also inspired from the concept of energy cultures addressing their priorities into different decarbonisation scenarios, as this micro-scale methodology could better inform modelling practices and future pathways.
